Attractions
  • Pohorje – travel with the cable railway to the top of Pohorje (1040 m), visit to the Natural and Cultural Heritage Centre in the church of St Bolfenk (here are different permanent and temporary exhibitions on natural heritage, about Pohorje's past, Pohorje rocks and minerals...).
  • Botanical garden of the University of Maribor - Pivola – in the largest botanical garden in Slovenia you can see rich habitats of coniferous and deciduous trees, rockeries and medicinal plants.
  • Betnava Mansion –the exhibition on Bishop Anton Martin Slomšek, who was also a poet and national awakener, is on show here.
  • Wine and culinary adventure on wine - tourist roads: Maribor wine - tourist road, Podpohorska wine - tourist road and the Upper Slovenske gorice wine - tourist road.  
  • With a bike through the city – with rented bikes guests can cycle along proposed cycling routes.
  • Meranovo Estate – A visit to Prinčev vrh, where in the first half of the 19th century Hapsburg Archduke Johann owned a country residence and on the surrounding hills he began to cultivate noble sorts of grape vines. He also founded the first viticultural school.
  • Drava river – A trip down the river Drava on a wooden raft.
  • Wellness –Diverse modern Wellness programs are on offer in the city and at the bottom of Pohorje, as well as on it.  
  • Shopping – a visit to well stocked shopping centres in the city and its surroundings.
