Varaždin - A City With Style

Varaždin with its 50,000 inhabitants has always been a meeting point for people, ideas and visionaries who have left their works behind. Today, as a part of the Central European circle, the City is open to new technologies and economic development, trying to be better, innovative and advanced, to be a lovely place in which to live, work and create. It is in such a creative environment that craftsmen still use their bare hands to make clay, wood, and glass come alive. Rich cultural history and continuous economic activities started by crafts and trade are today marked by the Technology Park and the most attractive free zones in Croatia. They have all defined today’s Varaždin as the central city of educational, economic and cultural activities in the region.

Maribor is a friendly town with a beautifully tendered historical core, which is created by a real labyrinth of old squares, lanes and passageways. Many restaurants – also with authentic national culinary offers - bars, taverns, pubs, with music at night and other locals and a casino and small shops and tiny art galleries give the town a lively throb. But it also preserves its 'discrete charm', which perhaps touches its visitors the most. The town with its one hundred thousand inhabitants is the seat of the university and many other cultural institutions. It has a developed quality tourist offer with the entire necessary infrastructure.

Although traditions are still powerful,the visitor can encounter a real modern town. In the Main Square (Fő tér) shops, restaurants, and cafés are awaiting the visitor, and the nice parks and alleys, just outside the city center and on the banks of the two streams crossing the city, are pleasant places for relaxing. Since Szombathely is also a center for education, culture and university, during the academic year there are a lot of young people in the city. In the evenings many places of entertainment are open, several programs are awaiting those wanting to go out. Szombathely is also a shopping-town, in the outskirts several shopping centers had opened. Also in the outskirts of the town can one find Claudius Industrial Park, having an important role in the town's economic life.
